· DO NOT operate engine in enclosed areas due to the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning from exhaust
fumes. Always start and operate engine in a well-ventilated area and, if in an enclosed area, vent exhaust to the
outside. Failure to follow this warning may cause injury or death to personnel.
· BE ALERT for personnel in the area while operating machine. Always check to ensure area is clear of person-
nel and obstructions before starting engine. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury or death to per-
· Hearing protection is required if within 20 ft (6 m) of an operating machine. Hearing protection is also
required if operating machine without ROPS/FOPS during transport procedures. Failure to wear hearing
protection may cause hearing loss.
N OT E
To start engine in temperatures from -25 to -40°F (-32 to -40°C), refer to WP 0006 00.
Ensure equipment is lowered to the ground.
Ensure BOTH shift lever (on steering column) and F/N/R switch (on loader control joystick) are in N (NEUTRAL).
Ensure parking brake is engaged.
Ensure both loader control joystick and auxiliary hydraulic control lever are in center HOLD position.
Ensure all accessories are off.

Stand clear of frame articulation area when machine is operating. There is no clearance for personnel in
this area when machine turns. Crushing could occur, resulting in injury or death to personnel.
Ensure all personnel are clear of machine.
Turn engine start switch to ON position.
Pause for 15 seconds to allow auto-diagnostics and secondary steering system self-check to cycle.
