TURBOCHARGER AND OIL LINES REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED
Remove dial indicator from end of actuator rod (20).
While air pressure is still applied, release locknut (21) on actuator rod (20). Remove and discard cotter pin (22) that
holds actuator rod to shaft.
CAU T I ON
Use only the threaded rod to make adjustments to the wastegate. DO NOT pull or push the actuator
rod. This could change the calibration of the wastegate and cause too much boost. Engine damage
Length of actuator rod (20) needs to be reduced if
reading for air pressure is too low. Length of actuator
rod must be increased if reading for air pressure is too
high. Use one half of one turn to adjust length.
Connect actuator rod (20) to shaft and install new cot-
ter pin (22). Tighten locknut (21). Release air pressure.
Repeat Wastegate Inspection in this work package. If
air pressure is not correct, repeat steps 1 thru 4 above.
WARN I N G
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use assistance during
procedure. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury to personnel.
