ENGINE TROUBLESHOOTING - ENGINE DOES NOT CRANK CONTINUED
To avoid injury, eye protection and acid-resistant gloves must be worn when working around batteries.
DO NOT smoke, use open flame, make sparks, or create other ignition sources around batteries. If a
battery is giving off gases, it can explode and cause injury to personnel. Remove all jewelry such as
rings, ID tags, watches, and bracelets. If jewelry or a tool contacts a battery terminal, a direct short will
result in instant heating or electric shock, damage to equipment, and injury to personnel.
Reinstall starting relay (TM 5-3805-292-10).
Temporarily swap starting relay with
Remove start interlock relay from fuse box
start interlock relay in fuse box (TM 5-
Turn machine power ON.
Momentarily connect a jumper wire to

start interlock relay pins 30, circuit
relay pins 30, circuit 622D (W), fuse box
622D (W), fuse box side, and 87 circuit
side, and 87 circuit 622A (O), fuse box side
622A (O), fuse box side to see if
Attempt to crank engine (TM 5-3805-292-
Reinstall start interlock relay (TM 5-3805-
Turn machine power OFF.
Disconnect auxiliary hydraulic spool neutral
switch C126 from main hydraulic valve (WP
0089). Disconnect instrument panel (IP)
between C23-5, circuit 602C (W), harness
side and C126-A, circuit 602D (W), harness
Replace starting relay (TM 5-3805-
Perform open harness test for circuit
