FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

REMOVAL
1.
Loosen two hose clamps (1) on hoses (2).
N OT E
Arctic equipped machines have three
hoses to disconnect.
2.
Disconnect two hoses (2) from fuel level sending unit
(3).
3.
For arctic configuration, disconnect third hose (2).
4.
Disconnect hose (4) from fuel level sending unit (3).
5.
Remove eight bolts (5), washers (6), and one clip (7)
from fuel level sending unit (3).
6.
Remove fuel level sending unit (3) and gasket (8)
from fuel tank (9). Discard gasket.

INSPECTION
1.
Inspect gasket for leaks, cracks, or wear. Replace if necessary.
2.
Ensure clamps are securely fastened.
INSTALLATION
1.
Install new gasket (8) and fuel level sending unit (3) in fuel tank (9).
2.
Install one clip (7), eight washers (6), and bolts (5) in fuel level sending unit (3).
3.
Connect hose (4) to fuel level sending unit (3).

Arctic equipped machines have three hoses to connect.
4.
Connect two (or three for arctic configuration) hoses (2) to fuel level sending unit (3).
5.
Tighten two (or three for arctic configuration) hose clamps (1) on hoses (2).
6.
Prime fuel system (WP 0029 00).
7.
Run engine to verify correct operation (TM 5-3805-290-10).
