Test Step 3. Test Lower Cab Wiring
1251-8 Alternator R
Abnormal Frequency, Pulse Harness for Open.
Width, or Period - Continued 1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
2. Install a jumper wire between
wiring harness connector terminal
R and ground of alternator
(WP 0012, Figure 92).
3. Remove left lower cab access
panels (WP 0347).
4. Remove transmission ECM cover
(WP 0266).
5. Disconnect connector C-C13
(WP 0012, Figure 25) from
Transmission ECM J2.
6. Using digital multimeter
Resistance 5.0 Ohms or Less
(WP 0174), measure resistance
Proceed to Test Step 5.
between connector C-C13
Resistance Greater Than 5.0 Ohms
(WP 0012, Figure 25) terminal 14
Proceed to Test Step 4.
and ground.
Test Step 4. Test Engine Wiring
Harness for Open.
1. Remove right lower cab access
panels (WP 0347).
2. Disconnect connector EN-C2
(WP 0012, Figure 12) from
connector C-C18 (WP 0012,
Figure 13).
3. Using digital multimeter
Resistance 5.0 Ohms or Less
(WP 0174), measure resistance
Replace lower cab wiring harness
between connector EN-C2
(WP 0291).
(WP 0012, Figure 12) terminal 3
Proceed to Test Step 7.
and ground.
Resistance Greater Than 5.0 Ohms
Replace engine wiring harness
(WP 0299).
Proceed to Test Step 7.
