1. Turn battery disconnect switch to

2. Remove rear tail and backup lamp
and position aside (WP 0272).
3. Disconnect connector M-C7 and
M-C23 (WP 0012, Figure 157)
from tail light.
4. Turn battery disconnect switch ON
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
5. Have an assistant press and hold
the brake pedal in (TM 5-3805-
298-10).
6. Using digital multimeter
Voltage 18 to 26 V Replace LH rear
(WP 0174), test for voltage
tail light (WP 0272).

Proceed to Test Step 17.

Voltage Less Than 18 V Proceed to

1. Turn battery disconnect switch to
OFF position (TM 5-3805-298-10).
2. Remove instrument cluster for
access to wiring harness
connectors (WP 0252).
3. Disconnect connector C-TSS
(WP 0012, Figure 155) from turn
signal switch (WP 0012,
Figure 156).
4. Using digital multimeter
Resistance 5.0 Ohms or Less
(WP 0174), measure resistance
Proceed to Test Step 7.

Resistance Greater Than 5.0 Ohms
(WP 0012, Figure 156) terminal 4
Replace turn signal switch (WP 0253).
and terminal 6.
Proceed to Test Step 17.
Test Step 7. Test for Open at Rear

1. Remove right lower cab access
panels (WP 0347).
2. Disconnect connector M-C1
(WP 0012, Figure 57) from
connector C-C20 (WP 0012,
Figure 56).
