Engine Grid Heater Indicator
Test Step 1. Verify Correct Operation
Fault
of Engine Grid Heater Indicator.
NOTE
Engine grid heater does not function at temperatures above 50F (10C).
The engine grid heater indicator flashes for 1 second when ignition switch
is turned on. At temperatures below 50F (10C), engine grid heater
indicator stays on for 10 to 15 seconds when ignition switch is turned on.
Turn ignition switch to the on position
Engine Grid Heater Indicator Does
(TM 5-2420-231-10) and observe
Not Flash for One Second and/or
engine grid heater indicator (Figure 1,
Illuminates for 10 to 15 Seconds
Item 1) on instrument cluster (Figure 1,
(Below 50F [10C]) - Proceed to Test
Item 2).
Step 2.
Engine Grid Heater Indicator Stays
On - Replace grid heater controller
(WP 0160).
Proceed to Test Step 10.
Engine Grid Heater Indicator Flashes
Continually - Diagnose engine grid
heater indicator (WP 0011) then
proceed to Test Step 10.
Engine Grid Heater Indicator Flashes
for One Second and/or Illuminates
for 10 to 15 Seconds (Below 50F
[10C]) - Troubleshooting complete.
