a.
Ease up on throttle pedal, leaving machine in gear.

Apply service brakes lightly and evenly. DO NOT pump service brake pedals.
c.
Always avoid sudden braking.

FORDING
CAU T I ON
DO NOT exceed maximum fording depth as damage to equipment may occur.
1.
Maximum fording depth is 28 in. (71 cm).

Before fording, ensure engine is operating properly and all indicators are indicating normal operating pressures and tem-
peratures.

Raise loader arm to 6 to 12 in. (15.2 to 30.5 cm) above surface of water.
Place transmission in 1st gear and enter water slowly. Fording speed should not exceed 3 to 4 mph (5 to 6 kph).

After fording, wash machine with fresh water, if available.

Allow engine to run for a while to dry out any accumulated water.
7.
Drain and dry any area where water has accumulated.
8.
Test service brakes after fording by operating brake system.

DS2 is flammable. Also, DS2 can severely burn the skin, cause blindness, or deteriorate the battle
dress chemical protective overgarments. DO NOT use DS2 near an open fire, or allow it to touch skin
or clothing. Personnel handling DS2 must wear protective clothing and eye protection.
