ENGINE OIL FILTER BASE AND OIL FILTER BYPASS VALVE MAINTENANCE - CONTINUED

REMOVAL
1.
Remove oil filter (1) from engine oil filter head (2).
Discard oil filter.
C AU T I O N
Wipe area clean around all connections to
be opened during removal. Cap lines and
hoses and plug openings after removing
lines. Contamination of system could
result in premature failure.
2.
Disconnect tube assembly (3) from engine oil filter
head (2).
3.
Remove five bolts (4) from engine oil filter head (2).

4.
Remove engine oil filter head (2) and three seals (5)
from adapter assembly (6). Discard seals.
5.
Remove six bolts (7) from adapter assembly (6) and
remove adapter assembly and gasket (8) from engine.
Discard gasket.
