INSTALLATION - CONTINUED
C AU T I O N
Push wiper arm assembly straight onto tapered shaft. If wiper arm assembly is not installed straight when
shaft turns, splines will be improperly formed and damage will occur.
Do not operate wiper motor before wiper arm assembly is installed. New wiper motor is preset in parked posi-
tion. If wiper motor is operated before installation of wiper arm assembly, misalignment will occur. This can
cause damage to wiper motor, wiper arm assembly, and/or glass. Do not manually rotate wiper arm assembly
on shaft.
6.
Use marks to align wiper arm assemblies (22) with wiper motor shafts (24).
7.
If wiper motor is new, position wiper arm assemblies (22) onto wiper motor shafts (24) within dimension (A) (as
shown). Dimension (A) equals 3.4 1 in. (86 25 mm) from glass edge to wiper arm assembly.
8.
Tighten two setscrews (21) on wiper arm assemblies (22) to 15 2.2 lb-ft (20 3 Nm).
