Pressure Event Code -

The engine electronic control module
(ECM) detects a fault with low fuel rail
pressure.
System Response:
Warning on the instrument panel will
be illuminated and event code will be
logged.
Possible Performance Effect:
The engine will be derated until the
ignition is turned off.
Test Step 1. Check for Active Event
and Diagnostic Codes.
1. Connect MSD and select C6.6 924
2. Start the engine (TM 5-3805-298-
Event Code E0398 Not Active -
10).
Proceed to Test Step 8.
Event Code E0398 Remains Active -
Proceed to step 3.
3. Using the MSD (WP 0008), check
Diagnostic Codes Are Not Active -
for active diagnostic codes.
Proceed to Test Step 2.
Diagnostic Codes Are Active - Refer
to (WP 0005) and repair active
diagnostic codes first.
Test Step 2. Inspect for Low Fuel.
Verify level of fuel in tank
Fuel Level OK - Proceed to Test
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
Step 3.
Low Fuel Level - Add fuel to tank
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
Proceed to Test Step 8.
