1. Turn ignition switch and battery

Particulate Contamination in Fuel/
Water Separator Bowl - Drain fuel from
tank (WP 0217), replace primary fuel
filter (WP 0219), secondary fuel filter
(WP 0220), and third fuel filter
(WP 0222).
Proceed to Test Step 8.
3. Position drain pan under machine.
4. Open valve (Figure 1, Item 3) on
fuel/water separator bowl
(Figure 1, Item 2), and drain
contents of fuel/water separator
bowl.
5. Close valve (Figure 1, Item 3) on
fuel/water separator bowl. Dispose
of drained fluid IAW local policy
and ordinances.
6. Turn battery disconnect switch to
the ON position (TM 5-3805-298-
10).
7. Activate the electric fuel priming
Fuel Prime Pump Fills Primary Fuel
pump switch (Figure 1, Item 1)
Filter - Proceed to step 8.
until fuel/water separator bowl
Fuel Prime Pump Does Not Activate
(Figure 1, Item 2) is filled with fuel
- Diagnose fuel prime pump (WP 0040).
and continue to operate for
approximately 30 seconds

8. Release electric fuel priming pump
switch (Figure 1, Item 1)
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
9. Turn battery disconnect switch to
the OFF position (TM 5-3805-298-
10).
