Pressure Event Code
Code:
The engine electronic control module
(ECM) detects high intake manifold air
pressure.
System Response:
E1044-1: Warning lamp on instrument
panel will be illuminated and event
code will be logged.
E1044-2: Warning lamp on instrument
panel will be illuminated, action alarm
will activate, and event code will be
logged.
Possible Performance Effect:
E1044-1: None.
E1044-2: Engine ECM will derate
engine power 20 percent.
Test Step 1. Verify Symptom and
Check for Active Event and
Diagnostic Codes.
1. Connect MSD, select C6.6 924
Event Code E1044 Not Active -
(WP 0008) and verify event code
Proceed to step 4.
E1044 is active.
Event Code E1044 Remains Active -
Proceed to step 2.
Event Code E0172 Active - Diagnose
2. Using MSD (WP 0008), check for
E0172 event code first (WP 0015).
E0172 High Air Filter Restriction
event code.
Event Code E0172 Not Active -
Proceed to step 3.
3. Using MSD (WP 0008), verify
Event Code E0194 Active - Diagnose
E0194 High Exhaust Temperature
E0194 event code first (WP 0017).
event code is active.
Event Code E0194 Not Active -
Proceed to step 4.
4. Using MSD (WP 0008), check for
Diagnostic Codes Are Not Active -
active diagnostic codes.
Replace wastegate solenoid
(WP 0209).
Diagnostic Codes Are Active - Refer
to (WP 0005) and repair active
diagnostic codes first.
