1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
2. Remove right engine access panel
(WP 0348).
3. Disconnect connector EN-C1
(WP 0012, Figure 11) from engine
ECM connector J1.
4. Using digital multimeter
Resistance 50 to 70 Ohms - Proceed
(WP 0174), measure resistance
to Test Step 3.
between connector EN-C1
Resistance Greater Than 70 Ohms -
(WP 0012, Figure 11) terminal 20
Proceed to Test Step 5.
and terminal 21.
Resistance Less Than 50 Ohms -
Proceed to Test Step 6.
Test Step 3. Test Engine Wiring
Harness for High Resistance or
Open.
1. Remove right lower cab access
panels (WP 0347).
2. Disconnect connector EN-C8
(WP 0012, Figure 22) from
connector C-C19 (WP 0012,
Figure 23).
3. Connect jumper wire between
terminal 1 and terminal 12 of
connector EN-C8 (WP 0012,
Figure 22).
4. Using digital multimeter
Resistance 2.0 Ohms or Less -
(WP 0174), measure resistance
Proceed to Test Step 4.

Resistance Greater Than 2.0 Ohms -
(WP 0012, Figure 11) terminal 20
Replace engine wiring harness
and terminal 21.
(WP 0299).
Proceed to Test Step 8.
