1. Disconnect jumper wire from
terminal 1 and terminal 12 of
connector EN-C8 (WP 0012,
Figure 22).
2. Connect jumper wire between
terminal 1 and terminal 12 of
connector C-C19 (WP 0012,
Figure 23).
3. Remove left lower cab access
panels (WP 0347).
4. Remove transmission ECM cover
(WP 0266).
5. Disconnect connector C-C13
(WP 0012, Figure 25) from
transmission ECM connector J2.
6. Using digital multimeter
Resistance 2.0 Ohms or Less -
(WP 0174), measure resistance
Proceed to step 7.

Resistance Greater Than 2.0 Ohms -
(WP 0012, Figure 25) terminal 67
Replace lower cab wiring harness
and terminal 68.
(WP 0291).
Proceed to Test Step 8.
7. Remove instrument cluster
for access to wiring harness
connectors (WP 0252).
8. Disconnect connector C-C56
(WP 0012, Figure 46) from
instrument cluster (WP 0252).
9. Using digital multimeter
Resistance 2.0 Ohms or Less -
(WP 0174), measure resistance
Replace transmission ECM (WP 0266).
between connector C-C56
Proceed to Test Step 8.

Resistance Greater Than 2.0 Ohms -
and terminal 20.
Replace lower cab wiring harness
(WP 0291).
Proceed to Test Step 8.

data link 2 resistor (WP 0012,
Figure 21).
