Test Step 5. Test for Open Rear
Frame Wiring Harness or Secondary
Steering Wiring Harness.
1. Disconnect connector M-C2
(WP 0012, Figure 103) from
connector T-C1 (WP 0012,
Figure 104).
2. Using digital multimeter
Resistance 5.0 Ohms or Less -
(WP 0174), measure resistance
Replace rear frame wiring harness
between connector T-C1
(WP 0295).
(WP 0012, Figure 104) terminal A
Proceed to Test Step 10.
and ground.
Resistance Greater Than 5.0 Ohms -
Replace secondary steering wiring
harness (WP 0288).
Proceed to Test Step 9.
Test Step 6. Test for Faulty Steering
Fuse.
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
2. Remove steering fuse (TM 5-3805-
298-10).
3. Using digital multimeter
Resistance 5.0 Ohms or Less - Install
(WP 0174), measure resistance
steering fuse (TM 5-3805-298-10).
between terminals of steering fuse. Proceed to Test Step 7.
Resistance Greater Than 5.0 Ohms -
Proceed to Test Step 9.
Test Step 7. Test for Faulty
Secondary Steering Enable Relay.
1. Turn battery disconnect switch and
ignition switch to ON position
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
2. Have assistant press and hold
secondary steering test switch to
ON position (TM 5-3805-298-10).
3. Observe secondary steering
Secondary Steering Indicator Is On -
indicator (TM 5-3805-298-10).
Proceed to step 4.
Secondary Steering Indicator Is Off -
Proceed to Test Step 8.
