Rear Window Washer Does
Not Operate
Always inspect wiring harness connectors that are involved in the circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical
circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure and
that all connections are in good condition. If a problem with the
connection is found, correct the problem and verify that this malfunction
or diagnostic code is active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short-circuit test at each wiring harness connection to
identify the correct wiring harness to replace.
Tag all wiring harnesses to aid in installation.
Perform this test only if condition is active.
Test Step 1. Test Operation of Rear
Window Washer.
1. Turn battery disconnect switch and
ignition switch to ON position
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
2. Have an assistant operate the rear
window washer by pressing in rear
wiper switch (TM 5-3805-298-10).
3. Listen for operation of rear washer
Rear Washer Pump Operates But
pump at washer bottle.
Does Not Pump Fluid Proceed to
Test Step 2.
Rear Washer Pump Does Not
Operate Proceed to Test Step 3.
Test Step 2. Check for Restricted or
Damaged Rear Washer Hose.
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
2. Remove left lower cab access
panels (WP 0347).
3. Inspect rear washer hose for leaks
Rear Washer Hose Is Not Restricted
or restrictions (WP 0361).
or Leaking Replace rear washer
pump (WP 0360).
Proceed to Test Step 14.
Rear Washer Hose Restricted
Remove restrictions from rear washer
hose (WP 0361).
Proceed to Test Step 14.
Rear Washer Hose Leaking Replace
rear washer hose (WP 0361).
Proceed to Test Step 14.
