WARNING
Allow engine and components with metal parts to cool before performing maintenance.
Hot metal parts can cause severe burns. Wear insulated gloves, long sleeves, and eye
protection when working with heated parts. Failure to follow this warning may result in
injury or death to personnel.
NOTE
Use a suitable container to drain oil from inlet and outlet tubes. To prevent fluid loss, cap
oil lines and ports for turbocharger.
Tag all hoses and tubes to aid installation.
1. Remove two nuts (Figure 1, Item 6), four washers (Figure 1, Item 5), and two bolts (Figure 1, Item 4) from
muffler (Figure 1, Item 1).
WARNING
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury or death to
personnel.
NOTE
Muffler weighs approximately 50 lb (23 kg).
