CLEANING AND INSPECTION

1. Clean and inspect all parts IAW Mechanical General Maintenance Instructions (WP 0172).
WARNING
Particles blown by compressed air are hazardous. DO NOT exceed 15 psi (103kPa)
nozzle pressure when drying or cleaning parts with compressed air. DO NOT direct
compressed air against human skin. Make sure air stream is directed away from user and
other personnel in the area. To prevent injury, user must wear protective goggles or face
shield. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury to personnel.
2. Clean exterior cabin air filter element with compressed air.
3. Exterior filter element may also be washed in a solution of detergent and water. Dry thoroughly.
NOTE
DO NOT reinstall any damaged air filter component. If air filter, grille, or angle bracket are
damaged or gasket sealing is deformed or damaged, filter will not function properly to
remove dust from the cab.
Cabin air filter elements are not repairable. If damaged or deformed replace filter
elements.
4. Inspect interior cabin air filter element (Figure 5, Item 1) for torn, excessively dirty or damaged pleats 
(Figure 5, Item 3). Replace interior cabin air filter if torn, excessively dirty or damaged pleats are found.
5. Inspect interior cabin air filter element sealing gasket (Figure 5, Item 2) for deformity or damage. Replace
interior cabin air filter element if sealing gasket is deformed or damaged in such a way that air will be allowed
to leak around it.
