This work package contains field maintenance troubleshooting information for the Backhoe Loader (BHL). Each
malfunction or symptom listed is followed by the possible cause(s) and suggested remedy or remedies. Use this
work package to help isolate and correct system problems. Perform all PMCS and operator troubleshooting
procedures first (TM 5-2420-231-10).
NOTE
Tag all wiring harnesses and connectors before removal to aid in installation.

Not Function Correctly
1. Turn ignition switch to the on posi-
tion (TM 5-2420-231-10).
2. Turn light control switch lever (Fig-
ure 1, Item 6) to the SER. DRIVE
position (Figure 1, Item 7) (TM 5-
2420-231-10).
3. Push front driving lights switch
(Figure 1, Item 5) forward to turn
driving lights on (TM 5-2420-231-
10).
4. Observe and record two rear
brake/taillights (Figure 1, Item 3).
Both rear taillights should be on.
