1. Raise front end loader and install
support strut (TM 5-2420-231-10).
2. Raise engine hood (TM 5-2420-
231-10).
WARNING
Keep all tools and small parts away from machine while engine is
operating.
Hearing protection is required when standing within 50 ft (15.2 m) of the
machine while it is operating.
Failure to follow these warnings may result in injury to personnel or
damage to equipment.
3. Position boot (Figure 5, Item 1)
aside and place positive lead (red)

2) on alternator cable connection.
4. Place negative lead (black) of digi-
tal multimeter on machine ground.
