AUXILIARY STEERING SYSTEM DOES NOT OPERATE (Cont).Step 7.With ignition key switch in on position, use multimeter and checkfor 24 volts between chassis and relay socket A pin 1 and relaysocket pins 1 and 8.Multimeter shall indicate 24 volts.a. If multimeter does not indicate 24 volts, turn ignition keyswitch to off position.Check wiring connections between relay socket assembly andwiring harness for open circuit. Repair or replace wiring asnecessary (page 5-84).b. If multimeter indicates 24 volts, go to step 8 below .Step 8.Start engine and operate at idle speed .Using multimeter, check for 24 volts between chassis and relaysocket A, pin 2 and then pin 3.Multimeter shall indicate 24 volts.3-150
