Remove engine hood (17).Remove two nuts (18), lock washers (19), and capscrews (20).Remove side support (21).Repeat stepsside supportCLEANING AND INSPECTION(1) through (5) above for remaining engine hood (17) and( 2 1 ).Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 used to clean parts is toxic and flammable.W e a r p r o t e c t i v e g o g g l e s a n d g l o v e s a n d u s e o n l y i n a w e l l v e n t i l a t eda r e a . Remove corrosion using a stiff wire brush. Touchup all bare metal areas using MIL-C-46168 paint, color forest green.( 3 ) I n s p e c t r e m a i n i n g p a r t s f o r c r a c k s , b r e a k s , d i s t o r t i o n , d e f o r m a t i o n , a n ddamaged threads.
