Replace if cracked or dented.Inspect defroster wire leads for cracked or broken insulation or brokenwire strands at connection to terminals. Repair cracked or broken insula-tion by applying insulation tape to area. If broken wire strands areseen, cut wire as close to terminals as possible. Strip 1/4 inch insula-tion from end of wire taking care not to cut through wire then crimp newterminals securely onto wire. Connect multimeter between terminals andcheck for continuity. Replace defroster if continuity not obtained onmultimeter.Inspect wiring harness terminal (6) wire for cracked or broken insulationor broken wire strands at connection to terminal. Repair cracked or brok -en insulation by applying insulation tape to area. If broken wire strandsare seen, cut wire as close to terminal as possible. Strip 1/4 inchinsulation from end of wire taking care not to cut through wire thencrimp new terminal securely onto wire.Inspect wire lead (7) for cracked or broken insulation or broken wirestrands at connection to terminals. Repair cracked or broken insulationby applying insulation tape to area. If broken wire strands are seen, re-place wire lead.Inspect remaining parts for cracks, breaks, distortion, bent condition,or damaged or stripped threads; replace as necessary.10-55
