Remove high range hub assembly
(13 thru 20) from transfer gear
(23).
Remove retaining ring (3) se-
curing transfer drive gear as-
sembly (21 thru 23) to forward
clutch carrier. Forward clutch
carrier will fall a short dis-
tance when retaining ring (3)
is removed.
Remove transfer drive gear as-
sembly (21 thru 23). If neces-
sary, install two capscrews (1)
and use as handles to remove
transfer drive gear assembly.

Remove bearing (4) from high range clutch piston housing (12) using two
pry bars as shown.
Using puller, remove sleeve (9) from high range clutch piston housing
(12).
Put high range clutch piston housing (12), high range clutch piston (7)
side up, in hydraulic press.
