Using hydraulic press and
acceptable tool, compress
return spring (6) and remove
retaining ring (5).
Release pressure from hydraulic
press. Remove return spring
(6).
Using screwdriver as prybar,
remove high range clutch piston
(7) from high range clutch pis-
ton housing (12).
Remove seal (8) by inserting
thin, flat blade and working
seal out. Discard seal.
Remove seal (10) from inner hub
of high range clutch piston
housing (12) by inserting thin,
flat blade and working seal
out. Discard seal.
Put high range clutch assembly
(13 thru 20) on workbench with
nuts (14) at top.
Remove retaining ring (13) from
high range clutch hub (20).
Using hammer and chisel, bend tabs of six lock plates (15) away from nuts
(14).
Remove 12 nuts (14), six lock plates (15), 12 capscrews (16), and washers
(17). Discard lock plates.
Separate two clutch plates (18), clutch plate (19), and high range clutch
hub (20).
Using a puller. Dull bearing (21) from transfer gear (23).
