Lubricate intake valves (9) and exhaust valves
oil.

NOTE
Install new valve locks (1) and
valve retainers (2 and 8) if new
valves are installed. Install all
valve parts in original locations
as marked during removal.
(2) Install one intake valve (9)
in cylinder head at location
marked during removal.
(3) Position spring seat (4) on
cylinder head, flat side down.
(4) Install spring (3) with either
end toward cylinder head.

Install valve retainer (8) on
spring (3), flat side up.
Using valve spring compressor, compress spring (3) and install new valve
stem seal (5) in lower valve stem groove.
