3-8. DRIVE SHAFTS MAINTENANCE (CONT)

REASSEMBLY

Put housing (6) in a vise so
top.

that hole for lubrication fitting (3) is on
Start bearing and seal (5) into housing (6) so that hole in outer race of
bearing and seal will be alined with hole in housing.
Hit bearing and seal (5) using rubber mallet to drive bearing completely
into housing (6).
Check and be sure hole in bearing and seal (5) outer race and housing (6)
are alined. Install lock pin (4) by dropping it in hole in housing.
Install and tighten lubrication fitting (3).
Install setscrews (1 and 2).
Install center support bearing (refer to TM 5-3805-262-20) and lubricate
lubrication fitting (refer to LO 5-3805-262-12).
