TM 5-3805-262-34 3-9. FRONT AND REAR AXLES MAINTENANCE (CONT) c. Front Axle Planetary Assemblies (Cont). REASSEMBLY (15) (16) (17) (SHEET 2 OF 2) Install three large inside diameter thrust washers (14) on pinion gears (15). Be sure tab is installed in planetary gear spider (3) notches. Install three new O-rings (13) in grooves of pinion shafts (12). Install three pinion shafts (12) in planetary gear spider (3). Be sure that holes in pinion shafts are alined with setscrew (11) holes. Aline pinion shaft (12) match mark with groove in plane- tary gear spider. (18) Press three pinion shafts (12) into planetary gear spider (3). (19) Install and tighten three setscrews (11). (20) Put sun gear (20) in position on axle shaft (4). Seat sun gear using 2-1/2 inches inside diameter sleeve and hammer. Seat until retaining ring (19) can be installed in its groove on axle shaft. Install retaining ring. NOTE Repeat above steps to reassemble remaining front axle planetary as- sembly. 3-378
