Torque wrench, 1/2 inch drive
Automotive Mechanic’s Tool Kit
Socket wrench set, 1/2 inch drive
Chisel , 3/4 inch cut
Putty knife
Chain hoist
MATERIALS/PARTS: Clean cloths (Appendix C, item 1)
Cleaning solvent P-D-680 (Appendix C, item 2)
Air-drying adhesive (Appendix C, item 34)

NOTE
PRELIMINARY PROCEDURE: Lubricant drained from planetary ends and dif-
ferential assembly (refer to TM 5-3805-262-20), and rear axle removed
from loader (page 3-386) and planetary gear spiders and axle shafts re-
moved (page 3-394).
REMOVAL (SHEET 1 OF 2)
(1) Using chain hoist, put rear axle in support stand as shown.
(2) Remove 14 nuts and washers.
