COUNTERWEIGHT REMOVAL

Counterweight removal is necessary only for air transport by C-130 and C-141 aircraft.
To reduce rear axle load, 550 lb (249 kg) are removed from rear of machine.
Remove and relocate two rear counterweights:
a.
Attach nylon strap to one counterweight. Attach
nylon strap to suitable lifting equipment.
b.
Remove two bolts and counterweight from
machine.
c.
Place counterweight on mounting bracket on top
of bucket.
d.
Secure counterweight with two bolts.
e.
Repeat steps to remove and relocate second
counterweight.
f.
Put tools and guide pins in toolbox and install
toolbox inside cab on mounting bracket.

a.
Attach nylon strap to one counterweight. Attach nylon strap to suitable lifting equipment.
b.
Remove two bolts and counterweight from bracket.
c.
Position counterweight on rear of machine and install with two bolts.
d.
Repeat steps to remove and install second rear counterweight.
