SECONDARY STEERING PUMP AND ELECTRIC MOTOR REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

INSTALLATION
N OT E
Apply a thin coat of clean oil to all O-rings before installation.
1.
Install two new O-rings (18) on connectors (17).
2.
Install two connectors (17) in steering pump (12).
WARN I N G
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use assistance during pro-
cedure. Ensure any lifting equipment used is in good condition and of suitable load capacity. Keep clear of
heavy parts supported only by lifting equipment. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury or
death to personnel.
N OT E
Steering pump and electric motor assembly weighs 50 lb (23 kg).
3.
With assistance, position steering pump and electric motor assembly (16) on machine.
4.
Install four nuts (15), washers (14), and bolts (13) in bracket for electric motor (5).
5.
Install two new O-rings (11) and connect hose assemblies (9 and 10) to steering pump (12).
6.
Connect cables (4 and 8) to electric motor (5) and secure with washers (3 and 7) and nuts (2 and 6).
7.
Pull down rubber cover (1) over battery cable (4).

WAR N I N G
Before operating equipment, secure the steering frame lock in the stowed position. DO NOT operate
machine with steering frame lock connected. Failure to lock steering frame lock into the stowed position
before operating can result in loss of steering and injury or death to personnel.
9.
Secure steering frame lock in stowed position (TM 5-3805-290-10).
10.
Operate secondary steering pump (TM 5-3805-290-10).
11.
Shut down engine (TM 5-3805-290-10).
12.
Check for leaks around secondary steering pump.
