Ensure that minimum backlash between engine oil pump gear and idler gear is 0.003 in. (0.08 mm).
6.
Install oil supply tube assembly (11) on engine oil
pump (13) and cylinder block (12).
7.
Lubricate two new O-rings (9 and 10) with clean
engine oil and install O-rings in oil supply tube assem-
bly (11).
8.
Install two bolts (7) and bolts (8) on oil supply tube
assembly (11). Tighten bolts to 16 lb-ft (22 Nm).
9.
Install suction pipe (6), new gasket (5), and two bolts
(4) on engine oil pump (13). Tighten bolts to 16 lb-ft
(22 Nm).
10.
Install nut (1) and bolt (2) on bracket (3).

11.
Install front housing (WP 0154 00).
12.
Install engine oil pump (WP 0157 00).
13.
Check oil level (WP 0025 00).
14.
Run engine until normal operating temperature is reached (TM 5-3805-290-10).
15.
Shut down engine (TM 5-3805-290-10).
16.
Check for leaks.
