1. Remove clamp (Figure 1, Item 5) and hose (Figure 1, Item 6) from engine breather (Figure 1, Item 3).
2. Remove two bolts (Figure 1, Item 1), valve cover (Figure 1, Item 2), and gasket (Figure 1, Item 4) from
machine. Discard gasket.
WARN I N G
Hot oil or metal can cause severe burns. Wear insulated gloves, long sleeves, and eye
protection when working with heated parts.
Failure to follow these warnings may cause injury or death to personnel.
3. Secure valve cover (Figure 1, Item 2) in vise, apply heat to connection point of engine breather (Figure 1, Item
3) and valve cover (Figure 1, Item 2) to loosen hold of sealant.
N OT E
Mark orientation of engine breather on valve cover to ensure proper alignment during
installation.
4. Using a pipe wrench, rotate engine breather (Figure 1, Item 3) clockwise and counterclockwise until engine
breather (Figure 1, Item 3) breaks loose from hold of sealant. Remove engine breather (Figure 1, Item 3) from
valve cover (Figure 1, Item 2).
