MAINTENANCE SUPPORT DEVICE (MSD) SETUP CONTINUED
2. Firmly press and release On/Standby button (Figure 6, Item 2) to activate MSD (Figure 6, Item 1).
NOTE
Correct usage and care of the MSD is essential. If new to MSD, perform MSD computer
based training (CBT) (WP 0009) before using MSD.
3. Ensure Caterpillar software has been installed on MSD.
a. If Caterpillar software is installed, connect MSD to machine, then proceed to Connecting MSD in this work
package.
b. If Caterpillar software is not installed, install Caterpillar software (WP 0010), then proceed to Connecting
MSD in this work package.
