Conditions Which Generate This
Pressure Event Code
Code:
The engine electronic control module
(ECM) detects excessive fuel rail
pressure.
System Response:
Warning on the instrument panel will
be illuminated and event code will be
logged.
Possible Performance Effect:
The engine will be derated until the
ignition is turned off.
Test Step 1. Verify Symptom and
Check for Active Diagnostic Codes.
1. Connect MSD (WP 0008), select
C6.6 924, and start the engine
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
2. Using MSD (WP 0008), check for
Event Code E0396 Not Active -
active event code E0396.
Proceed to Test Step 4.
Event Code E0396 Remains Active -
Proceed to step 3.
3. Using MSD (WP 0008), check for
Diagnostic Codes Are Not Active -
active diagnostic codes.
Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to the OFF position
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
Proceed to Test Step 2.
Diagnostic Codes Are Active - Refer
to (WP 0005) and repair active
diagnostic codes first.
