Engine Shutdown Switch
Does Not Operate
Always inspect wiring harness connectors that are involved in the circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical
circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure and
that all connections are in good condition. If a problem with the
connection is found, correct the problem and verify that this malfunction
or diagnostic code is active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short-circuit test at each wiring harness connection to
identify the correct wiring harness to replace.
Tag all wiring harnesses to aid in installation.
Perform this test only if condition is active.
Test Step 1. Check for Active Event
Codes.
1. Turn battery disconnect switch,
and ignition switch to the ON
position (TM 5-3805-298-10).
2. Activate the engine shutdown
switch (TM 5-3805-298-10).
3. Connect MSD, enter C6.6 924
Event Code E0265 Active - Replace
engine ECM (WP 0265).
E0265 is active.
Proceed to Test Step 3.
Event Code E0265 Not Active - Pro-
ceed to step 4.
4. Deactivate the engine shutdown
switch (TM 5-3805-298-10).
5. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to the OFF
position (TM 5-3805-298-10).
6. Disconnect connector EW-C2
shutdown switch connector
7. Install a jumper wire between
Figure 50) terminal 2 and terminal
3.
8. Turn battery disconnect switch,
and ignition switch to the ON
position (TM 5-3805-298-10).
