8. Raise loader arm as required so that loader arm and work tool will clear crest of ship ramps. Remove blocking
from under loader arm (TM 5-3805-298-10).
WARNING
Hearing protection is required if within 25 ft (7.6 m) of an operating machine. Hearing
protection is required when operating machine without Cab during transport operations to
prevent hearing loss.
Always use a ground guide when moving machine down ramp to unload from trailer or
railcar. Failure to use a ground guide may result in an accident, causing death or injury to
personnel or damage to equipment.
9. Using ground guide, negotiate ramps in 1st gear only.
10. Park machine clear of ship loading/unloading area.
11. Perform BEFORE operation PMCS (TM 5-3805-298-10) and inspect for damage during transport.

The 924H is air transportable by C-5 or C-17 with no special preparation and without any component removal.
The 924H is air transportable by C-130 aircraft by removal of the exhaust pipe, removal of the cab, removal of all
counterweights and relocation of one counterweight to MP bucket. MP bucket must be installed on machine.

1. Ensure fuel level is no greater than 25 percent full.
2. Secure BII as appropriate.
4. Remove cab, if necessary (WP 0344).
5. Remove all counterweights and mount one counterweight on MP bucket, if necessary (see procedures in this
work package).
