10. MODIFICATION PROCEDURES.
TOOLS: Mechanics Tool Set
Hand Hammer, 16 ounces
Combination Box and Open End Wrench Set
Adjustable Pipe Wrench, 1" minimum
Steel Stamping Set (1 1/8" or 3/16")
Drill Motor with 1/8" and 5/16" Drill Bits
Knife
Center Punch

MATERIALS/PARTS: Pure Methanol Alcohol 188 Proof
Teflon Tape

PRELIMINARY
PROCEDURES:
Engine off and loader bucket lowered to ground.
To engine right side remove panels.
At right side of loader, just above rear axle, open air reservoir drain valve to relieve all air pressure.
Using tear-out template located on page 11 of this MWO, locate and drill three 5/16" holes into right
hood post. Template must be centered 7 1/2 inches up on post from edge of rear frame.
Replace manufacturer's installed brass fitting from the alcohol evaporator mounting flange with new
valve-check assembly. Tighten valve-check assembly securely with hole opening away from mounting
flange. Install connector assembly to top and side of valve-check assembly. Tighten securely. See Figure
1.
NOTE
Use care when removing attached nuts from kit's elbow or connector
assemblies. The compression fittings found within the assembly are
small and are very easy to lose or misplace.
Teflon tape needs to be applied on threaded pipe fittings only.
