Test Step 1. Verify Correct Operation
Warning Lamp Fault

Warning Lamp.
NOTE
Always inspect wiring harness connectors that are involved in the circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical
circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure, and
that all connections are in good condition. If a problem with a connection
is found, correct the problem and verify this malfunction is active before
performing this procedure.
Perform an open or short circuit test at each wiring harness connection to
identify the correct wiring harness to replace.
Perform this test only if the condition is active.
1. Check level of fluid in center bowl
Fluid Level in Center Bowl of Rear
of rear axle (WP 0220).
Axle Below Fill Hole - Add rear axle
fluid (WP 0220) as required.
Proceed to step 2.
Fluid Level in Center Bowl of Rear
Axle at Fill Hole - Proceed to step 2.
2. Start and operate engine (TM 5-
2420-231-10).
3. Observe rear axle oil temperature

Lamp On (Red) - Proceed to Test Step

4. Operate machine in forward (F)
and reverse (R) (TM 5-2420-231-
10) until torque converter oil tem-
perature gauge (Figure 1, Item 2)
indicates transmission is at nor-
mal operating temperature (green
area on gauge) (TM 5-2420-231-
10).
5. Observe rear axle oil temperature
