NOTE
Leave bolt installed in pivot pin in order to provide an attachment point for puller.
6. Loosen bolt (Figure 5, Item 1) from pivot pin (Figure 5, Item 4).
WARNING
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Ensure any lifting device used is in good condition and of
suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure to
follow this warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
NOTE
Front axle weighs 770 lb (349 kg).
Support axle with suitable lifting device and trestles while removing from pivot pin.
Note location of thrust washer between frame and front axle assembly.
7. With assistance, remove pivot pin (Figure 5, Item 4), retaining ring (Figure 5, Item 2), thrust washer (Figure 5,
Item 3), and front axle (Figure 5, Item 5) from machine.
8. Place front axle on trestles.
