TROUBLESHOOTING
Low Fuel Level Indicator
1. At the fuel tank, remove the T/O wire from the Fuel Level Switch (sensor).
Use an 8S4627 Circuit Tester to check for continuity across the switch. There
must be continuity if the fuel level is more than 10% of capacity.
Continuity
No Continuity
The switch is good. Go to Step 2.
Replace the switch.
2. Check continuity from switch to machine ground with an 8S4627 Circuit
Tester.
Continuity
No Continuity
Ground connection is good. Go to Step 3.
Repair or replace harness or fasten a ground wire
from the switch to machine ground.
3. Connect the T/O wire to the switch (sensor) again. Disconnect the harness
plug from the operator panel. Check for continuity between Sockets 2 and 14 in
the harness plug with an 8S4627 Circuit Tester. Socket 2 is the ground
connection for the operator panel and Socket 14 goes to the fuel level switch.
Continuity
No Continuity
The harness is good. Replace the operator panel.
Use the electrical schematic or simplified schematic
to find the harness with an open wire. Repair or
replace the harness.
