a. Transmission Torque Converter Group (Cont).
INSTALLATION (SHEET 1 OF 2)

If plug (14) was removed, coat outer diameter of new plug with non-hard-
ening sealant. Drive plug into converter housing flat side first until
seated against shoulder in bore.

Install seal (11) in groove of converter ground sleeve. If necessary, use
oil-soluble grease to retain seal in groove.
Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 used to clean parts is toxic and flammable.
Wear protective goggles and gloves and use only in a well ventilated
area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes and donut breathe
vapors. Do not use near open flame or excessive heat and dont smoke
when using it. Failure to do so could cause serious injury. If you be-
come dizzy while using cleaning solvent, get fresh air and medical
attention immediately. If contact with skin or clothes is made, flush
with large amounts of water.
If contact with eyes is made, wash eyes
with water and get medical aid immediately.
(3) Clean area of converter housing from which diaphragm (13) was removed us-
ing clean cloth moistened with cleaning solvent P-D-680. Dry using clean
cloths.
(4) Apply non-hardening sealant to outer diameter of new diaphragm assembly
(13). Install diaphragm assembly, convex side first and marking ASSEMBLE
DOWN towards bottom of converter housing. Using two soft hammers, one
driving against the other or against a block of wood, drive diaphragm
assembly evenly into converter housing until diaphragm stops moving.
