Lubricate new seal (27) using lubricating oil and position on drive gear
(25). Install two 1/4-28 studs in drive gear.
Position converter pump (29) on drive gear (25). Remove two 1/4-28 studs
and install retaining plate (24)
Position six new lock plates
(23) and install 12 capscrews
(22) to secure retaining plate
(24), converter pump (29), and
drive gear (25).
Install converter pump (29) and
assembled parts (22 thru 28) in
a soft jawed vise with drive
gear in jaws of vise. Tighten
every other capscrew (22) to
120 to 144 lb-in. until all
capscrews are tight.
Using channel lock pliers, bend
tabs of lock plates (23)
against heads of capscrews
(22).
Put turbine housing (21) in hy-
draulic press with a support
under its center. Position
bearing (20) with manufactur-
er-s identification upward on
turbine housing and press onto
hub of turbine housing. Use
1-3/4 inches outside diameter
sleeve bearing on inner race of
bearing.
Put turbine assembly (17) in
hydraulic press with a support
under its center. Position
bearing (18) with manufactur-
er-s identification upward and
press firmly into turbine as-
sembly (17) hub seat using
2-1/2 inches outside diameter
sleeve bearing on inner race of
bearing.
