TorqueConverterHousing(Cont).REASSEMBLY(18)(19)(SHEET 4 OF 4)Position torque converter housing(20) on blocks so that driven gear(5) and assembled parts (6 thru 8)can be installed.Install driven gear (5) and assembledparts (6 thru 8) in torque converterhousing (20) bore. Use hammer handleto push bearing (8) into torque con-verter housing bore.INSTALLATION (SHEET 1 OF 2)(1)(2)(3)(4)Install drive gear and shaft(29) and assembled parts (24thru 28) in transmission hous-ing. If necessary, use softhammer to seat bearing (28) intransmission housing bore.If necessary, install freewheelunit.Install drive gear and shaft(23) and assembled parts (21and 22) on drive gear and shaft(29). Make sure drive gear andshaft (23) is seated in thrustrace (25).Position new gasket (30) on transmission housing. Use oil-soluble greaseif necessary to hold gasket in position.When using chain hoist to remove or install parts, be sure chain hoistis securely fastened to the part and that all slack in chain is takenup. Failure to do so could cause serious injury due to the part fallingon you.If you are injured by falling equipment, obtain medical aidimmediately.(5) Attach chain hoist to torque converter housing (20) and position overtransmission housing.4-130
