e. Reverse Clutch and Planetary

REMOVAL (SHEET 2 OF 2)
(2) Use a pry bar to lift up and free anchor and pin assembly (3). Remove
anchor and pin assembly.
(3) Remove anchor pin from side of transmission housing.

Lift carrier and hub (15) with associated parts (11 thru 14) and one set
of clutch plates (4 and 5) from transmission housing. Then separate
clutch plates (4 and 5) from carrier and hub.

Remove remaining eight clutch
plates (4 and 5) from trans-
mission housing.
Apply compressed air to reverse
port on side of transmission
housing to push reverse clutch
piston (6) from transmission
housing. Remove reverse clutch
piston from transmission
housing.
Remove sun gear (7).
Remove three seals (8 thru 10)
from reverse clutch piston (6)
by inserting awl in groove and
working seals out. Discard
seals.
NOTE
Don't disassemble reverse carrier and hub (15) and associated parts (11

thru 14) unless inspection indicates these parts are damaged.
Refer to
cleaning, inspection,
and repair for repair/replacement of these parts.
