(c) Put carrier and hub (15) in hydraulic press. Using 5/8 inch diameter
rod, press four pinion spindles (11) from carrier and hub.
(d) Remove eight thrust washers (12) and four pinion gears (13) from carrier
and hub (15).
(e) Remove 22 rollers (14) from each pinion gear (13).
Temperature of solid carbon dioxide (dry ice) is below -70 degrees F.
Wear insulated gloves to prevent severe skin injury, If skin is injured
by contact with dry ice, flush with large amounts of cold water to raise
temperature above freezing point and obtain medical aid immediately.
(f) Chill four new pinion spindles (11) in dry ice for one hour. If dry ice
is not available, put pinion spindles in a freezer for two hours.
(g) Make a pinion spindle alining tool by grinding a used pinion spindle
(11) to 0.005 inch undersize.
(h) Install one thrust washer (12) on pinion spindle alining tool.

pinion spindle (11) into its bore.
(n) Press pinion spindle (11) into bore to 0.130 to 0.150 inch below surface
of carrier and hub (15). Use 5/8 inch diameter rod.
(o) Put a support under each pinion spindle (11). Use tool made in step (a)
above to stake both ends of pinion spindle. Make sure pinion gear (13)
rotates freely.
