AirCompressorGovernor(Cont).CLEANINGDry cleaning solvent P-D-680 used to clean parts is toxic and flammable.Wear protective goggles and gloves and use only in a well ventilatedarea. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes and don’t breathevapors. Do not use near open flame or excessive heat and don’t smokewhen using it. Failure to do so could cause serious injury. If you be-come dizzy while using cleaning solvent, get fresh air and medicalattention immediately. If contact with skin or clothes is made, flushwith large amounts of water.If contact with eyes is made, wash eyeswith water and get medical aid immediately.(1)Clean all parts using cleaning solvent P-D-680. Dry using clean cloths.Compressed air used for cleaning purposes will not exceed 30 psi. Useonly with effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment(goggles/shield, gloves, etc). Failure to do so could cause seriousinjury to eyes and possible blindness.If you hurt your eyes or if aforeign object is blown into your eyes, seek medical attentionimmediately.(2)Remove any obstructions from governor body (12) air passages usingcompressed air.INSPECTION(1)Inspect governor body (12) for cracks, breaks, or other damage. Checkseat surface at bottom of bore in body for wear or chipping. Replace aircompressor governor if governor body requires replacement.(2)Inspect all other parts for cracks, breaks, distortion, deformation, orthread damage. Replace governor if any part not included in governor kitrequires replacement.3-496
