Put control valve
(3) Using an open end
assembly on clean work bench.
wrench, loosen and remove seal assembly (1).

Using a screwdriver, remove wiper (2) from seal assembly (1). Discard
wiper.

Remove O-ring (3) from seal assembly (1). Discard O-ring.
Don't overtighten vise in following step. TO do so will cause damage to
control valve body.

Put control valve assembly in
a soft jawed vise.
Loosen detent housing (18).
Install rod or small prybar in
spool eyes as shown.
Loosen and remove four screws
(4).
Pull connector (6) up from cap
(9) just enough to gain access
to wires soldered to its
contacts. Tag and unsolder
wires from connector (6) con-
tacts. Remove connector.
Remove setscrew (7).
Using screwdriver, remove retaining ring (8). Then, remove cap (9).
Remove and discard O-ring (10) from cap.
On some units, tape may
