six capscrews (2).
oil seal retainer (3).
rear oil seal (4) from oil seal retainer (3).
and discard gasket (5).
two capscrews (6) and washers (7).
oil pump (page 3-92).
NOTE
To aid installation, record number of shims (8) removed in step (9)
below.
(9) Remove shims (8) and main bearing cap (9). Keep shims (8) together as a
unit.
(10) Remove 12 capscrews (10) and washers (11).
NOTE
Check that main bearing caps are numbered for location in cylinder
block. If necessary, number them to aid during installation.
(11) Remove six main bearing caps (12 thru 14) with main bearing liners (16
(12) Remove two thrust washers (15).
(13) Lift crankshaft (18) out of cylinder block using nylon straps and chain
hoist.
